Carz Carz Carz

The time has finally come, I bought a car!!! I have a reliable form of transportation, and it was a pretty good deal. I bought a 2006 Toyota Carolla. The advantage of a Carolla over a civic is it's rear seat folds down. That's it, Civics and Carolla are pretty much the same, have a similar Consumer Guide rating, but it'll be nice to also haul some small cargo. I fit my bike in the trunk yesterday. I got it at a pretty good deal, and I didn't spend all my savings!!

Obviously this provides quite a bit of change for my time management. I'm still used to waking up at 6 to catch the bus. But I have to remind myself that I can sleep in, and my alarm is set for later. This also provides more time for me to get ready at home. I was walking about a half mile total in the mornings from the bus stops. I would wear some comfy walking shoes and bring my nice shoes packed in my bag. But I can wear the nice shoes right out from the house. I am still going to leave a paior of sneaks at work for when I have to swing my the bank, the mall or something right around work. Also I used to put my makeup on on the bus to work. It's not a good idea to put on make up while driving. I suppose I can do my hair as well. I would straighten it at work, but I think I can take care of that before. I don't have to be to work till 8.30, but since Ive been driving Ive been in right at 8.

It will be nice for grocery shopping. I used to take my little old lady cart, so I could get a decent amount of groceries. The Vons is only a few blocks from my apt. But making it to Henrys for my produce, I would have to make it a seperate trip because it is about almost a mile away.

Well, here she is. And if you have never been to my apt, theres a view of my cute little apt's.

Also speaking of cars, my friend Eric and I went to a car show this weekend. It was at the Barona Resort and Casino drag stip. Barona is an Indian reservation, so it was pretty cool because lots more would fly without cops patrolling.
So we got there just in time to see some of the rods racing. Then after them was the muscle cars. It was pretty awesome, real lous too:)
There was about 100+ cars on display. It wasnt too hot by the time we got there, quite nice actually. So we just walked around checking out the cars, catting with folks.

At night there were a few bands that were playing. Good fun rockabilly bands, surf rock stuff. It was a pretty good time. Definatly going to be chacking that place out more.

Some live footage of the Creepy Creeps show, gets everyone dancin!
