Stuff, stuff, stuff

Well I fianlly am getting around to getting some stuff up on here. It's been a heartly concert month.
Saw Apocolyptica at the beginning of the month. I normally wouldn't have gone, but I friend managed to get a couple extra tickets. They are a band of just cellos players. They play hard metal, death metal type stuff. Its great because hearing the original music, what Apocolyptica plays is just as powerful, but more beautiful. It so deep, intense and orchestral that it really is quite a show. A much better and enjoyable show than I think would be had at a metallica or Sepultura concert. It was such an amazing show. Great performance.

The Revival Tour:
This show was at the Casbah, a small venue near dowtown that had the lead singers from Lucero, Against Me and Hot Water Music. It w3as a solo and collaboritive show. They started out playing a few together, then split to seperate shows, then played together again. Lucero is an 'alt-country' band. Hes a real whiskey/ciggerette sounding voice, country stuff (quite emo, lovie doevy wheres my girl stuff) but also gets into more Springsteen type stuff. Lucero is awesome, great band. So to see him play with these guys was too good. Plus to see them walking around while the others were playing and have a bit of a chat with them, thats why small venues are awesome.
The against me singer was really good. He had a few solo albums out before he started Against Me, and with them made it big. But hes a great singer, same sort of harsh voice, but great lyrics and songs. The Hot water singer doesn't get much of a mention. But when they played together, man, great stuff!!

And most recently:
MISFITS!!!

This was last, last wed. I was really stoked to see them, cause its the Misfits, and Ive never seen them. Granted you have that whole fight on its not really the misfits, since the only orig member is Jerry Only. But still, Jerry sounds pretty good. And its their 30th Year anniv tour. Crazy. So I went to this show with Eric. He was awesome and got the tickets.

It was great, I get home from work wearing probably a tupid collar short or something, and you wouldn;t even recognize me dressed up for the show. I had my hair cut into a shorter bob recently, and mand I can make it WILD! So I had crazy hair, with a headband, which was so cute. Then had to have real dark eyes cause thats how Jerry does it. Then pulled out my goot old Misfits patch and put it on my bomber jacket. With that and some docs with skinny pants, I was ready to mosh!

I think I really suprosed Eric when I launched into the pit and stayed there for a bit. It was sort of to get a braek from him. I told him this isn't a clutchy concert, this is a balls out rock out concert, and Im going to rock out. But he kept being annoying so once I heard Astro Zombie, flew into the pit. It was a managable pit, beause downstairs was only 21+, and the kiddens were upstairs. So the show wasn't as crowded which made the pit more rockable for me. But there was a losds of that energy that was missing.; They were practically hanging off the balcony trying to get a good view and rock out. I managed to then stay near the front at a good spot where I made some 'pit buddies', the only other girl that was in the pit ricking it hard. So with her and her bf, we were wailing between mosh breaks. it was a great show. We slammed a couple of giggely girl wearing flowers and frills. Not in this pit man. Ah, I love the times when my own reality is gets justice and I can get back at all the real world oppression. Anyways, great show. And afterwards, Jerry came out to siogn stuff. Unreal, never seen that happend!
Check out the mic stand

I also went to a Derby Dolls game. That was a good time. It was an alumni event from school. I really want to be a Derby Doll! Im getting my friends to go roller skating here soon so I can work on those skills. They have try outs all the time, and boot camps to learn it and stuff. Next year Ill do it.

Oh, and I've finished painting the electric box that I got a commission for. I will post pictures of that tomorrow along with holiday updates. It turned out pretty cool, I like it. And no more traveling out to the ghetto with stacks of stuff, phew!
