Life Goes On...

Well, upon assesment of things... Life keeps rolling along.
I've had to get a second job to take care of a few extra things, fill in some holes and get some savings so that I can take another step foward in life. So I'm working 4 evenings a week at a print shop in, well that doesnt matter. Its not bad, even though I'll be working 65 hours a week. It keeps me from a lazy butt in the evenings. And then hopefully Ill be motivated to do my artwork on the weekend. Maybe I should devote a certain time/day for it because I already have like 6 projects in line waiting to be 'manifested'.
Well this past weekend I got myself a couple new books. One was called Dharma Punx. It was a really good read.

I stopped reading it however 3/4 through because it started getting really heavy into the dogma and I wasn't looking for that read right now.

Its an autobiography of the live fast die young punk ideals back in the start of the movement. That part was grerat to read about, a part of history I wish I was apart of.I might pick it up again though because my friend loaned me a movie called 'The Secret'. Its kind of philosophy/spiritual crap but associations aside it still has some good messages. It was really about reaffirming how you think your thoughts. Just having a positive out look and that will come around. Theres some pretty deep thoughts that it helped me realize, too deep for anonomous internet blog, well this isnt a spiritual post, so its a conversation for later.
The second book I got is more what I was looking for. Its Scar Tissue by Anthony Keidas.

He is now the lead singer of Red Hot Chilie Peppers who have been around for over 20 years and still are great, they just won a grammy for best rock album or something. His life starts out in the typical Reagan syndrom of broken homes, his dad living it up in the seventies studio 54 style straight up. And being a kid subjected to that, at the time of you life when your dad is the coolest person ever, proves for some interesting stories and a strange start on life. I dont want to get to far into it because you really need to read the book. Its a really great story so far, keeps me up past my bed time too often.
Another book I just checked out was referenced by a flyer I found while doing random window shopping.

There is also an Artists way at work book which I picked up as well. It seems like a creativity inspiring book. I will get to it as soon as Im finished with Anthony.

Besides reading like a dork- this weekend was pretty relaxing. My friend Carlos came over friday. It was a pretty good chatting/therapy session. We figured out how to play piano man on the harmonica, too fun. It ended up making it a slumber party. Which was good because I only see carlos like once a month really. Then Sat I didnt do very much. Watched some six feet under, then went to Ray at Night. Met a few friends then had a slumber party at Miras with a couple other girls where we stayed in our pj's all day. It was just a really lazy day, but very well needed.

Im going to start working about 65 hours a week now. On top of needing to find a new place. Im waiting for my application to go through on this awesome place. So right now Im in a sort of limbo state. At least my second job finally went through. Thats one big weight off my shoulders. Theres more to deal with but this will help me get there, and Ill worry about the rest when I get there.

Ok, well thats all for now. Hmmm, I wonder if I found anything cool recently. Oh yeah, yesterday I got down with my rockabilly/motorhead side and found some cool stuff.

Example of his work (which was hard to decide which to represent).

Theres nots more of influences that I could list here, but I'll save it for another time.
Till later-
